Toro Y Moi Listening Party ft. PAX

ICYMI, we recently had the pleasure of partnering with chillwave artist Toro y Moi (aka Chaz Bear) to help produce the visual companion to his seventh studio album, Mahal. While the 41-minute video is presented as a casual group hang with friends in a relaxed setting, upon pressing play, it quickly becomes apparent that it’s so much more. It’s truly one of the most enjoyable things you’ll see this year. It’s hilariously relatable in moments where these friends enthusiastically share random cannabis-fueled observations.

Did we mention everyone is sporting cartoonishly large papier-mâché heads (courtesy of Denver-based artist and videographer Joe Cappa)? The permanent smirks plastered on each sculpted face only add to the obsurdity and sense of frivolity that radiates from this intensely satisfying fever dream captured on film. You can read more about how this amazing collaboration came to be here.

It goes without saying that the album is absolute fire. It’s aural dopamine and the ideal soundtrack for sharing good flower with good friends. But don’t just take our word for it. You can listen to Toro y Moi’s new album (and watch the iconic listening party video) here.
